The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Are You Experienced

Chas Chandler, former member of The Animals and the entrepreneur, brought Hendrix to the UK and introduced him to drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Noel Redding. Recordings for "Are You Experienced" had begun in October 1966 and produced a series of singles that served as appetizers for the world-famous guitarist's first album. During the recordings, the foundation for the future working relationship between sound engineer Eddie Kramer and Hendrix was laid. The Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut album was originally released in mono and only on later presses as "enhanced stereo". The cover photo of the British version was taken by Bruce Flemming.
