  • An old dog and an old man are just two of the characters Mac Demarco sings about on his new album. The Canadian musician and singer also dedicates the first two singles "My Old Man" and the title track "This Old Dog" to them.

    Otherwise, Demarco is as thematically rich as ever on the record and, as a genre father, perfects his jizz jazz once again. This time, however, he chose a more acoustic approach than on his two predecessors "2" (2012) and "Salad Days" (2014). And so, besides drum machines and synthesizers, mainly acoustic guitars are waiting. The electric guitar is used only once.
